About Breker Verification

Breker Verification Systems is a venture-backed, privately held EDA company supplying graph-based functional test synthesis tools that solve functional verification challenges in today’s complex designs. Using patented technology that combines graphs with dependency resolution, Breker’s software reduced the verification effort by over a factor of 10, resulting in first-silicon success for numerous customers.

Breker was founded in 2003, and is headquartered in Austin, Texas.

Adnan Hamid – Chief Executive Officer & Founder
Adnan is the founder of Breker, and has over 13 years experience in functional verification automation. Prior to Breker, he managed AMD’s System Logic Division, and also lead their verification team to create the first test case generator providing 100% coverage for a x86-class microprocessor. Adnan also worked at Cadence Design Systems and served as the subject matter expert in System Level Verification, developing system-level verification solutions for Texas Instruments, Siemens/Infineon, Motorola/Freescale and General Motors.

Adnan holds 15 patents in test case generation and synthesis. He received BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Rick Nordin – Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Rick comes to Breker with a 12 year track record in EDA. Prior to Breker, he served as Marketing Director at Nascentric and at Silicon Design Systems; as sales manager for Circuit Semantics; as methodology consultant for Cadence; and as District Technical Manager for Synopsys. Rick began his engineering career as a hardware designer with AMD in Austin, Texas.

Rick holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Arthur Flatau, PhD. – Vice President of Engineering
Art brings to Breker over 24 years of experience in functional verification. At Computational Logic, Inc., he worked on a formal proof of the correctness of a compiler, and also on an automatic garbage collector for a functional language. At AMD he worked on the first test case generator providing 100% coverage for a x86-class microprocessor. He lead subsequent efforts to extend the project to cover additions to the x86 instruction set, including additional SIMD instructions, and 64 bit extensions.

Art holds a B.A. in mathematics and computer science from Cornell University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin.

Maheen Hamid, Controller and Chief Financial Officer
Maheen brings financial experience in deal structuring and operations management for small to medium sized businesses.   Her experience spans a broad range of industries including wireless telecommunication, education and construction.

Maheen holds a BBA from the North South University, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
